Glenn came to us wanting a backyard that could handle both family use and Austin's brutal summers without constant maintenance. The existing yard had poor drainage, sparse plantings, and no defined outdoor living area, common challenges for Southwest Austin properties.
Our team developed a layered plan: starting with the hardscape foundation, a limestone patio and integrated seating wall, then building out with drought-tolerant native plantings that would establish quickly and thrive long-term. Landscape lighting was added to extend the usable hours of the space well into the evening.
The finished space is a defined outdoor room that feels like it belongs to the property, durable, low-maintenance, and designed for real Austin life.
What We Did
- Limestone patio with mortared flagstone finish
- Custom seating wall with limestone cap
- Native and drought-tolerant planting design throughout
- Low-voltage LED landscape lighting, uplights and path lights
- Surface drainage improvements and grading
- Drip irrigation system for all planting beds
- Decomposed granite pathways and border edging
