About This Project
Small yards require even more intentional design than large ones, every square foot has to work. This compact Austin backyard was redesigned from scratch to maximize usability, visual depth, and character within a tight footprint.
The challenge was to create distinct zones, seating, planting, pathway, without the space feeling cramped or cluttered. We achieved this through careful material selection, vertical interest, and a plant palette that adds depth without overwhelming the boundaries.
The result is a space that feels larger than its dimensions, with layered planting, clean hardscape edges, and materials that feel native to Central Texas. It's proof that you don't need a sprawling property to have a stunning outdoor space.
